OGIO Grom Stand Bag

Over the years I've migrated from various stand bags to various cart bags and back. I'm typically a cart rider with the occasional walking round, so I was looking for a stand bag that would work well on a cart - the Grom excels in this capacity.

This is the first Ogio product I've ever purchased, and I have to say all the positive reviews I found around the web are all spot on. The bag is very well constructed, and appears it will last a very long time. The 1-way top is organized and angled in such a way that it works well as either a stand configuration (woods on top to avoid shaft damage) or a cart config (woods at the rear for complete access to all clubs). Clubs don't bind with other shafts when putting them back in the bag - a complaint I've had with other 14-way tops I've owned.

The zipperless ball pocket and 3-ball exposed sleeve thing are very handy and a minor stroke of genius. Pockets are plentiful and even labeled; the only complaint I'd have is the "valuables" pocket is directly under where the normal cart strap binds, so you can't access your wallet and car keys after your bag is strapped in. The rubber strap that attaches to the rear of the cart (to keep the bag from twisting) is also a stroke of genius, albeit mitigated by the few carts I've run into that have some huge plastic lip on the rear basket that precludes the strap's use.

The stand mechanism (another weakness in other bags) is very sturdy and keeps the bag very upright - a good thing, as I've had other stand bags break where the mechanism "squats" too low.

SUMMARY:
Clearly, this bag was designed by folks who actually use golf bags - loading in and out of trunks, walking the course, using the bag on a golf cart. I'm very, very pleased with its functionality, light weight, usability and smart looks. Would definitely buy another if I needed to.
